Why Eco?
Actually, it's simple. We can't just ignore the global ecological problem. It's our future. A future where humans cannot live is no future at all. That’s why we’ve chosen a small solution, even if it’s very small: clean code.- Clean code works more efficiently on servers and consumes less energy for the same amount of work. Imagine that a popular application is hosted on a high-performance cluster and has thousands of users. Guess how much energy this cluster consumes when running at full power? 10 kWh per month? 1 MWh per month? Or more? Every watt-hour matters.
- Clean code consumes less energy on workstations and other devices during development. It produces fewer bugs, and fewer people are needed to solve them.
- Clean code allows for efficient code creation. Efficient code drains less energy from users' devices. And we're not even mentioning the app's speed. Yes, creating clean code takes time, but it reduces complexity. Less complexity reduces consumption, and less consumption reduces pollution - even if we have a data center fully powered by solar panels and wind turbines.
- As an eco-oriented company, we are open to working with other eco-oriented products and solutions to help clean the Earth's ecosystem from human pollution. Even if that means replacing paper usage.
- We are thinking of ways to encourage our employees to take a responsible approach to environmental issues. Yes, we are a small company now, but who knows what the future holds?
- One of the most important aspects for us is caring about our employees and their health. That’s why we have introduced a new working hours policy: a 6-hour workday without any loss of salary for every employee.
- Finally, the artificial super-intelligence we are building will be able to identify new technical opportunities to find effective solutions for reducing CO₂ and stopping global warming.
